This week students are finishing their research papers.Today students peer edited another student’s paper. This entailed a rather detailed checklist of specific items that are needed to create a strong well written paper. I have attached a copy of sheet to this email. Students have been working on these papers since before the winter break and they are to be turned in at the end of class Wednesday. If a student is not prepared to hand in a completed paper the end of class it can be turned in for a late grade of best of a Summative 70. We also began working on Mock Trial twice a week; we will continue to do this until our competition on April 28th. Parents, if any of you are lawyers and would like to help us out in class once a week or twice a month for 53 minutes, please consider bringing your expertise to the classroom. Although I have been teaching Mock Trial for a few years, there are times, especially when we get a the new mock trial problem, that I have exhausted my legal knowledge. I am flexible for what day you can come in to help, since you will be doing the class a huge favor. Finally, We will begin reading To Kill A Mockingbird the week of January 23 and students need to purchase their own copy of this novel. If you have any questions about any of this information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
